This is a tiny old fashioned inn run by a nice couple. The rooms reminded me of Grandma's in their decor. Nothing fancy or big but homey. Close to Balmorhea and Davis Mountains.
Very charming little place! We will stay here again if we come out to west Texas again. The gentleman that owns it is very nice, and gave us great advice on where to get lunch and what to do in Balmorhea on a rainy day. We had a great burger with fresh onion rings and a beer at nearby Juan Carrascos - perfect after an 8 hour drive thru the desert in the rain. Our white cotton comforter was fresh out of the dryer when we came back to our room. The room was clean and had an interesting desert theme and antique decor. The grounds are lovely with foliage and blanket covered benches outside each door. We even chatted up a few of the other guests in the evening - the vibe here is friendly and relaxed. Our biggest regret was not getting to make a fire in the pit because the wood was too wet. Maybe next time!
This is an excellent stop to be refreshed. The proprietors are warm, attentive, and professional. I will be bringing my family again.
A real gem! We love this place for the very nice owners and quiet atmosphere. We have stayed here several times and always look forward to the next. We have stayed in rooms 7 and 11, both utterly charming.
Rustic hotel in a little town. This place was built in the 40's and has that older feel but we were amazed at how clean and cozy it was for the cost. Plenty of fresh linens and the couple that owns it has to be the sweetest people I have ever met. They give you great information about the area and make sure you feel at home. Will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.
